I know that Pearl Harbor takes over an hour to get to by bus and it would also be helpful having a car to get to the Diamond Head parking lot to save a walk from the bus stop. We are in our fifties and are confident drivers here in Melbourne traffic. My friend and I have already decided that renting a car is the only way to see Kauai in May next year, however, this is based on the fact that Kauai will have less traffic than Honolulu and we will have an opportunity to practise there without getting too stressed with traffic.īut we will be arriving in Honolulu and spending 3 nights in Waikiki before flying to Kauai and I am now wondering if we should also rent a car from the airport during that stay.
