I was like, “Well maybe I can try that.” I didn't really know what it was, and I don't know if I still know what it is. Then when I was about ten years old I was watching “Hannah Montana”, believe it or not, and I just thought it was amazing how she had her own show where she could sing and she could act. Obviously I started singing when I could talk, which was about two, but I really started practicing my singing, taking lessons when I was about six. I was about six years old when I started really singing.

Sabrina: I was definitely interested in singing first, because I didn't really know what acting was. Gerry: As far back as you can remember, were you always interested in both singing and acting? They have Krispy Kreme, but I don't know if it's as good as Dunkin. Also, I miss Wawa a lot, and there's not many Dunkin Donuts out here, I haven't, I have yet to find one, but I'm sure there is some. Another thing I miss is the camp fires, because you can't really have any camp fires out here, and we always used to have those back in PA. I remember in my development, I was able to sit in the middle of the street for two hours and no car would come by it was just so quiet and peaceful. Sabrina: Honestly, I miss all of the land.

Gerry: Now that you are a West Coaster, what do you miss the most about Quakertown? We caught up with this rising star to ask about her big new role, her big break from Miley Cyrus, & what's it been like moving from Bucks County to LA.

Sabrina was recently cast in the lead role as the rebellious Maya Hart in Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, debuting in 2014, opposite titular character Rowan Blanchard. This Quakertown native has appeared on hit shows like Law & Order: SVU, The Goodwin Games, & and even records songs for Radio Disney.īut that is just the beginning. “With him on board we will be bolstering our European distribution side,” Hartmann said, noting that NBCUniversal, which has been handling global distribution of some Sky Italia content, is US-based.įor more such news, stay tuned to Koimoi. After placing third in a singing contest run by the Miley Cyrus website, young Sabrina Carpenter's career was kicked into high gear. He also announced that former BBC Studios director of commissioning and co-production Tobi de Graaff has been appointed as SVP commercial of Sky Studios. Hartmann also praised Italy’s version of ‘Call My Agent’, the first season of which featured Paolo Sorrentino among its stars and aired successfully on Sky in January, noting that “it would have been really easy to get it wrong.” Hartmann added that “more than volume, what counts is the continuous growth of our ambition,” noting that ‘M’, which will air in 2024, takes Sky Italia originals to the next level, both “in terms of creative vision and in terms of production expenditure”, which he declined to share.

“We are at the level of eight Sky originals a year, which I think puts us among Italy’s top scripted content producers in terms of volume,” Nils Hartmann, EVP Sky Studios Italy and Germany, told Variety. While Sky’s German unit, which is believed to be up for sale, has put production on pause, Sky Italia is cranking out Italian originals through the platform’s Sky Studios unit at a steady pace, showing no signs of a slowdown. It underscores how the Italian unit of the Comcast-owned pay-TV service continues to be a major Italian industry driver.
